v Calculations inc - structural, static, dynamic loads & resultant & principal stresses, power transmission, beams, shafts, bending, torsion, shear, weights, c of g, bearings, gearboxes, weld strength, pneumatic & hydraulic cylinder sizing etc, etc.
v Practical understanding of how components can be manufactured. Workshop skills include, machining, bench fitting, sheet metal work, fabrication & welding, maintenance techniques include servicing, repair, dismantling, assembly & fault finding.
v Design Office experience includes proposal drawings, full & complex design layouts of components and complete equipment/machine, fully dimension ed & detailed manufacturing drawings (inc geometric tolerance, surface finish, limits & fits), assembly drawings, material specification (based on operating environment, costs, loads & required fos), full parts lists/bom & operation manuals.
